The tuition of grooming young footballers on the Gold Coast is the most important aspect of the Academy. If Australia is to compete at the highest level of the game and become a world power, it is at the grass roots level of the game that we must endeavour to get it right.

This also applies at a regional level and a creation of a top class Centre of Excellence is a major priority. In other words a real Football education within the constraints and limitations that currently exist. This initiative has been evolving for a number of years on the Gold Coast and has reached a stage where one in three of  players in our programs are identified for Queensland Squads.

A well qualified and caring team of coaches and sports science personnel have been sourced and GCSI is beginning to see the reward for the time, energy and financial investment that has been made in the Centre of Excellence.

Our aim is to see as many of our young players being identified as possible and making the grade as senior players.

Winning competions is not the criteria by which we judge the success of the Centre of Football Excellence programs. We want all our players to play the game in the correct manner through a quality Football education of self and team discipline. Learn how to maximise their impact on a game, strive for excellence, but enjoy it all along the way.

The results over recent years are a testament to the philosophy of the Football Queensland and Gold Coast Football Centre of Excellence.
