MAGIC BACK TO WINNING WAYS

MAGIC Utd put their season back on the rails with a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Palm Beach at Mallawa Drive last night.
Trailing to a Justin McKay strike from the edge of the box midway through the first period, Magic set about their hot and cold opponents after the interval to register a win that puts to an end a dreadful run of three consecutive defeats.
After a blistering start to the campaign, Magic had demonstrated a propensity to freeze when facing more lofty Premier League opposition, but this win keeps them firmly in the hunt for a top four place.
Matt Olley restored parity on the hour mark when he coolly converted a hotly contested spot-kick and Magic secured the win their performance warranted when Ben Martin fired home ten minutes later, pouncing on a loose ball in the box.
Adem Poric summed up his side’s performance in simple and succinct terms.
“We were absolutely rubbish; simple as that.” he quipped.
Magic coach Brett Budwee on the other hand was buoyant after seeing his players show that they can take points off the top sides in the Buffalo Sports Premier League.
“We changed a few things at half time and it was the win we needed. I wanted more than anything not to lose the game but to win was great for us.
“We’ve shown tonight that we can beat the top teams if we take our opportunities and we’ve done that,” he said.
