KNIGHTS TAKE OUT PREMIERSHIP
Mon Aug 11 2008
Musgrave 1 (P. Cronin)
Gold Coast Knights 4 (D. Pilic, T. Pearcy, D. Mutch)
GOLD Coast Knights were crowned Premiers of the Buffalo Sports Premier League on Sunday afternoon when they disposed of title rivals Musgrave by four goals to one.
The win was the Knights’ thirteenth in seventeen games, making them worthy winners of the title and the focus for John Stewart’s men will now be to ready themselves for a successful finals campaign.
David Pilic notched yet another double with Tony Pearcy and David Mutch adding to Musgrave’s pain. The home side grabbed a late consolation goal thanks to classy striker Pat Cronin, but the day belonged to the Knights who have been the team to beat all season.
Musgrave’s season is threatening to tail off with two consecutive defeats and Oscar Langone’s men will need to lift their form if they are to finish as runners-up and make an impact in the finals.
