COACHING EDUCATION ON THE GOLD COAST
Gold Coast Soccer is proud to have the highest Coach accreditation rate on a per capita basis in Queensland. GCSI set a target in 2002 within our club coaching structure of 50% Coach Accreditation - we managed to give that a shake (42%). In 2004 our aim was to reach the elusive 50% - with the help and support of the Clubs that target was surpassed and the final figure was 56%. In 2006 we managed to lift the bar again to 66% and this is creeping closer to 70% in 2008.
469 (a Record) Coaches achieved some level of Coaching qualification last year, the sixth year year in succession that over 250 coaches have attended courses. I believe it is within our reach to give EVERY COACH at whatever level at least the bare minimum of Coach Education. We owe it to our players.
